The first step
in building your site is research – and lots of it! The more time you put
into your site up front, the better it will be. A project
profiler will help as you go through the steps of
- Laying out the background and your goals
- Determining your audience, site content and functionality
- Visiting other sites to discover what you like (and don’t)
Once you have this information, you are ready to find a web designer that
fits well with your company and needs.

Should you choose Rextec Ltd as your site developer, we would work
with you through the following process. This project schedule is used for
large, custom web sites. Such sites typically involve database back-ends
as well as external services like credit card authorization. Smaller sites
go through a similar but scaled down process.
|

Client and developer work together to design a strategy that works for
the client, and a site that works for the customers
|
|
|
| |
The goals and requirements are explicitly defined after consultations with the
target audience and client. To help in this process, questionnaires and user
models are used. A schedule is worked out for the project and technical, creative
and strategic briefs are presented. After the content plan and site map are
developed and approved, a final estimate is given.
|
|
| |
The content plan is fleshed out with the required specifications and a completion
schedule is drawn up. Research, copywriting, photography and video are completed
and final content is approved by section.
Look and feel explorations followed by site design prototypes are completed and a
final site-wide design style is chosen.
|
|
| |
Once the design style is selected and prototype pages are created in phase two,
the client and server side scripting work commences. Database, user interactivity
and user experience elements are created and tested. Alpha and beta versions of the
site are released for testing and review. After all client and developer questions
are answered, a final version of the site is ready.
|
|
| |
The site is now ready! Documentation on all aspects of the site are submitted along
with templates for consistent updates. Getting the site to this stage
in a large project can take months. Careful planning and reevaluation ensure
that the end product is successful!
